Maria Breslin Sewing Tuition

Maria is a very kind and patient lady.  I went to Maria just after I got my embroidery machine as did not have a clue what to do but with Maria's patience I have come on leap’s and bounds and have a lot to thank her for.

I first met Maria when I purchased a sew/embroidery machine. My husband bought me a day's tuition to help me get to know this new machine. The knowledge and encouragement I got from that day inspired me to do other classes and project days, again they gave me so much confidence enabling me to successfully tackle many projects I never thought possible. The, PE Design software course enhanced the skills that I had, allowing me to create and digitise my own designs. If like me have a machine you are not using to its full potential I would recommend you try one or two sessions with Maria, you will be surprised just how much patience and knowledge she has and how she can help you to get the best from your machine.

Since attending Maria’s classes I have learnt how my sewing machine and Overlocker works and what the different sewing machine feet can assist my sewing. I have more knowledge on what materials to buy how to read the pattern and putting the outfit together with the correct body measuring. With regard to the fitting of the zips I have learnt a lot. I have never heard of a toile which is a test garment made up in calico until I attended Maria’s classes. I always look forward to seeing what Maria as made due to her wearing it to the class or she brings in a number of outfits she has finished. I always enjoy going to my sewing class.

My confidence has grown since joining the Maria’s Saturday group. I have tackled fabrics that I would never have used before!

Maria advises on fabric, patterns and fitting. Her classes are small groups, which means she always has time to help and guide you.

I love my time in the group and I have made some wonderful one off outfits for weddings and cruises. 

Since sewing with MB I have totally reassessed the style, fit and type of pattern for garments that I have made. Sewing with her has increased my confidence with choice, developed techniques and added that final professional finish to all the items I now make. Thanks Maria.

Just to say "Thank you" for such an informative enjoyable and fun course.

Your explanation of how the software works is very easy to understand.

I learned more in the 2 days than I have in 6 months trying on my on own with the built in tutorials.

Thank you for the course work folder and also the USB stick and name tag, very nice surprise. I highly recommend this course to anyone with this software. It is well worth the time and money spent.

Maria is a great teacher - relaxed, knowledgeable, highly prepared with a great personality. The lessons just fly because Maria hones them to your needs. I’ve had group lessons, one to one and Face Time lessons - all great fun and highly informative. With Maria you learn such a lot in a short time.

Excellent training from Maria on both my Brother V7 and XV embroidery machines. There is nothing you can’t ask her about the Brother software, and she is also very knowledgeable on all aspects of sewing - all delivered in a very friendly way. I will be booking more time with Maria soon

Another fantastic day with Maria. The small size of the group really generated a friendly atmosphere, and ensured that everybody got plenty of one to one time with Maria. This meant that we each progressed at our own pace, with beginners and more experienced all going home having learnt something new. Taking my own sewing machine also gave me more confidence to have a go at my new skills at home, after all I know that the machine can do it, it just has. I really like Maria’s teaching style, she is very patient and her vast experience is willingly shared, even when she has learnt from previous mistakes, both her own and students! A really enjoyable day, I will certainly be returning.

I have been attending Maria’s courses for several years now. This has been as part of a group and on a one to one basis. Her knowledge, tips and ideas have helped me so much, along with her problem solving approach. She explains everything so it is easy to understand and follow. It is a very supportive environment, relaxed, laid back but still productive.

I was a novice when it came to using an embroidery machine but I really wanted to learn. I heard about Maria's lessons and classes through a friend and thought I would give it a go.

I was very nervous but Maria took me under her wing and she has been fantastic.  She is really patient and anything I've asked or needed help with, she has always been there.  I have been on different courses and learned a lot.

I'm more confident in my sewing now and I love going to the classes and meeting up with the other ladies.  We sew and have a great time!

I really enjoyed the two day PE Design course last week. I was a bit nervous about it as I'm new to embroidery/embroidery software and was worried about keeping up, but I needn't have worried. It went at a pace that we could all keep up with and excellent notes were provided, so I didn't feel like I was struggling. 

The ladies were lovely too, a good group. I learnt a lot during the two days and I'm more confident on the software now. I would definitely recommend your course and hope that we can do a follow up one.

Maria is very skilful in adapting patterns. I usually book a one to one session for pattern alterations and tuition in order to achieve perfect results every time.

I always look forward to classes and courses with Maria. She is so knowledgeable about so many areas of sewing from machines to patterns, fabrics and embroidery. Groups are small, only 4 at the monthly sewing class, and so there is plenty of time for expert fitting and learning new skills. Maria soon gets to know your "figure type" and will help with suggesting patterns and fabrics and where to get them. No' homemade looking' garments here!!!

All the classes and courses are very very informative and I have always come out of each one having learned something new. Maria has a wealth of knowledge which she enjoys sharing with everyone. All classes are small and very friendly - lots of fun but at the same time lots of learning.

Oh forgot to mention she makes a very good cuppa as well - there is no end to her talents !!
