The summer has been and gone and I haven't added to my blog since Easter  so I thought that I would share with you my favourite summer dress which I made earlier this year.. The dress has been just brilliant, it was so comfortable to wear whilst I was on holiday in Southern Spain where the weather was   scorching hot  and it has been equally as useful at home.
This dress is so easy to wear and make.  I made view 'D' but didn't add the ties and amended the shape of the neckline slightly.  I also lowered the bust dart slightly.  The fabric I used was a mixture of cotton, linen and a very small percentage of lycra.  The stretch in the fabric wasn't  required.
The instructions in the pattern say to use purchased bias tape, but I made my own using a bias tape maker and I attached the tape using  a 'Brother Adjustable Bias Foot'.  To use this  foot remove your seam allowance before attaching the tape.
I machine stitched the hem in place with a 3cm hem allowance.
Just love this dress!
